The Junior B Profile
BIFC Junior B is the most senior boys’ team in our club, proudly representing players aged 16 to 18 (born between 2007 and 2009) in the competition.
Our squad of 20 dedicated players trains twice a week at Bachgraben, our training ground for years—through cold, heat, rain, snow, or sunshine. Our home matches take place at St. Jakob, giving us the privilege of calling these two pitches “home.”
Many of our players have been part of BIFC for more than seven years, having grown together since Junior F. Our coaching staff joined our path in Junior E and D, building not only a team but a long-lasting friendship and a shared football journey.
Dominating the Pitch: Our Undefeated Season
Junior B plays 11-a-side football and currently competes in Group 3 of the 1st Category.
This season has been one of exceptional growth and consistency. With one match left, we stand third in the table and remain undefeated so far with four wins and four draws. Just a single point would secure third place in a tight race for the top four.
The progress this season has been remarkable. We’ve strengthened our squad with talented new players, and our overall level has risen thanks to hard, consistent training.
More Than a Team: A Global Family and Fair Play Champions
Our players represent ten different countries, making Junior B a true reflection of BIFC’s international spirit and unity through football.
Fair Play Champions: Our team is also among the fairest in the league, with only six Fair Play points—a testament to our core values both on and off the pitch.
Beyond the Pitch: Our Partnership with Erlenhof Etzmatte
BIFC is deeply committed to our community. We have an agreement of collaboration with the Erlenhof Entmatze institution, providing space for children who arrive without parents to practice and play football. We're proud to have hosted more than 10 of these young players over the last three seasons, offering them a welcome and supportive environment through sport.
We started our first Junior B season a year ago with barely enough players to compete. What kept us going was our commitment and the incredible support from the Junior C team, whose players often joined us—sometimes even playing two matches in one weekend! Their effort, and the flawless coordination from their coaches, made our project possible and turned it into an inspiring success story for the club.
Our Identity: Fast, Composed, and Always Respectful. Junior B is defined by commitment, respect, and passion for the game.
We love to play fast, keep the ball, and stay composed—always aware that mistakes are part of the game, and what matters most is how we recover and keep playing together. For us, football is not only about performance but also about how we play: with focus, sportsmanship, and a deep sense of teamwork.
Advice from the Top: The BIFC Path
Moving from Junior C to Junior B was not easy, just as every step up in football never is. But we learned quickly that the real difference lies in mindset—after only a few matches, we were ready, playing eye-to-eye with every opponent.
To all our younger BIFC players reading this: the path ahead is exciting. Every training, every match, every challenge prepares you for the next step. Junior B is just one part of the journey—and while we are proud of what we’ve achieved, it’s the commitment and passion of every player across the club that makes BIFC truly great.
Keep showing up, keep growing, and one day, you’ll find your place here too.
